Floating Ball Valve

A floating ball valve is a type of quarter-turn valve that uses a floating ball to control the flow of fluids. It is called a “floating” ball valve because the ball is not fixed or constrained by a trunnion or stem and is free to move with the flow.

The main components of a floating ball valve include a hollow ball with a through-hole, a valve body, seats, and a stem. When the valve is in the closed position, the ball is pressed against the seats by the force of the fluid, creating a tight seal to prevent leakage. When the valve is opened, the ball rotates to align with the flow path, allowing fluid to pass through the through-hole.
